Glucosamine: Glucosamine (2-amino-2-deoxy-alpha-D-glucose) is a natural amino sugar that the body produces and that may be found in some meals. It is the most basic building component needed for the production of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) such as hyaluronic acid, keratan sulfate, and chondroitin sulfate. GAGs bind to protein to produce proteoglycans, which are an important building block of articular cartilage. Osteoarthritis develops when the cartilage in a joint deteriorates. It also aids in the formation of ligaments, tendons, nails, and other connective tissues. When we take an artificially produced Glucosamine Sulfate supplement, it raises Glucosamine levels in the body, facilitating cartilage synthesis and repair. Glucosamine also stimulates chondrocytes in the cartilage, which aid in the production of GAGs and proteoglycans.
In humans, the digestive tract absorbs around 90% of glucosamine provided as an oral dosage of glucosamine sulfate. Predominantly processed by the liver and eliminated via urine.
Diacerein is a medication used to treat osteoarthritis. It also possesses analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is released in vitro and directly suppresses the production of InterLeukin-1 (IL-1), the major cytokine implicated in cartilage degradation. It has been demonstrated to have disease-modifying effects in laboratory models of osteoarthritis and in human individuals with finger joint and knee osteoarthritis due to its unique mechanism of action.
Diacerein has a 56 percent oral bioavailability. Concurrent meal consumption slows the time to peak concentration but increases absorption by 25%. As a result, diacerein is best taken with meals. It mostly binds to the protein albumin. Diacerein is completely metabolized in the liver after oral administration. The urinary excretion of diacerein in the form of its metabolites has ranged between 35% and 60%.
Use in adults: One tablet twice daily with food.
Use in children and adolescents: The safety and effectiveness of children and adolescents under the age of 18 years have not been established.
Diacerein absorption can be reduced by using antacids containing aluminum and/or magnesium hydroxide. Laxatives or antibiotics might increase the risk of diarrhea.
It is not recommended for people who are allergic to glucosamine or diacetyl sulfate.
There have been no significant side effects recorded. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, epigastria discomfort, headache, skin rashes, and an extreme yellow colour of the urine are all possible side effects.
This pill is not recommended during pregnancy or nursing.
When delivering this pill to individuals who are allergic to Glucosamine or Diacerein, use caution.
